STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI253KA Evaluation Kit

STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI253KA Evaluation Kit is based on the IIS3DWB10IS 3-axis digital vibration sensor with an intelligent sensor processing unit (ISPU). The kit includes the STEVAL-MKI253A main sensing board, which features a square printed circuit board (PCB) and mounts the IIS3DWB10IS 3-axis digital vibration sensor. It also includes the STEVAL-MKIGI08A adapter board, which enables compatibility with the STEVAL-MKI109D through a DIL24 interface.

A flat cable connects the STEVAL-MKI253A to the STEVAL-MKIGI08A. Additionally, the kit includes a flex PCB (STEVAL-FLTCB05) to connect the STEVAL-MKI253A to other boards, such as the X-NUCLEO-IKS5A1. The square PCB lets the user place the sensor directly where it is needed to measure, even if that position differs from the main board. The IIS3DWB10IS is soldered exactly in the center of the board.

The STEVAL-MKI109D evaluation platform supports the STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI253KA evaluation kit. This platform includes a high-performance 32-bit microcontroller that acts as a bridge between the sensor and a PC.

After the evaluation, the user can plug the adapter board into other boards for development and prototyping. The user can use the MEMS Studio graphical user interface or dedicated software routines to configure and communicate with the sensor.
