The PCI100x Switchtec low-lane-count PCIe switches build on the legacy of Microchip’s high‑performance Switchtec product line. These devices deliver many of the features found in larger data‑center‑class switches, but in a compact, low‑lane‑count format that supports flexible PCIe connectivity and efficient system design. A smaller form factor makes the components ideal for System-on-Chip (SoC) and accelerator interfaces, as well as for expanding port‑ or lane‑limited PCIe connections. The PCIe Gen 4 switch family complies with the PCIe Base Specification 4.0 and supports up to 16 lanes, offering Non‑Transparent Bridge (NTB) options, embedded low‑power states, and extensive diagnostics and debugging capabilities.
Designed for demanding embedded applications, the PCI100x switches are well-suited for automotive Level 2+ and Level 3 ADAS systems, defense/aerospace computing, embedded servers, industrial PCs, and compact video systems. To support functional safety requirements, the PCI100x family is fully ISO‑26262 compliant and carries an ASIL‑B rating.
