Infineon Technologies REF_5GR4780AG-1_6W1 Reference Board is a 6W (12V, 500mA) reference board that operates under a wide input range and is developed with offline Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) in mind. The Infineon REF_5GR4780AG-1_6W1 board is designed using an isolated flyback converter topology with the CoolSET™ Generation 5 Fixed-Frequency (FF) Plus ICE5GR4780AG-1 Integrated Circuit (IC). The DSO-12 packaged ICE5GR4780AG-1 comprises an 800V CoolMOS™ MOSFET IC and a 125kHz fixed-frequency Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller with frequency reduction from medium to light loads. These components significantly simplify the design and layout of the PCB. Improved digital frequency reduction and frequency jitter features enable lower EMI and higher efficiency. The enhanced Active Burst Mode (ABM) power enables flexibility in standby power operation range selections.
