Analog Devices Inc. AD5705R/AD5706R Digital-to-Analog Converters

Analog Devices AD5705R/AD5706R Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) are low noise, four-channel programmable current-output devices designed for photonics control, optical communications, LED driver current sourcing, and current-mode biasing. The DACs integrate a 2.5V on-chip reference, a load DAC, an A/B toggle, and dither functions, which simplify precision current-source design while supporting flexible SPI-based control.

Each DAC channel operates independently with its own positive supply rail, helping optimize power efficiency and thermal performance across multiple outputs. The AD5705R/AD5706R DACs also include programmable current ranges up to 300mA, analog diagnostic monitoring of supply and output conditions, and addressable pins that allow up to four devices to share a single SPI bus.

The ADI AD5705R is the 12-bit member of the family, while AD5706R provides 16-bit resolution for applications that need finer current-setting granularity. The devices are offered in 36-ball 2.55mm x 2.55mm WLCSP and 28-pin 4mm × 4mm LFCSP package options, and support operation from -40°C to +125°C.
