Infineon Technologies AS5047U Rotary Position Sensor
Infineon Technologies AS5047U Rotary Position Sensor is a Hall-effect magnetic sensor using CMOS technology. The Hall sensors convert the magnetic field component perpendicular to the chip surface into a voltage. The AS5047U Sensor is designed to offer fast absolute angle measurement over a full 360° range. The 14-bit on-axis magnetic rotary position sensor features integrated Dynamic Angle Error Compensation (DAEC™) with near-zero latency at higher rotational speeds. To improve signal quality at lower rotational speeds, the Dynamic Filter System (DFS™) reduces transition noise. The robust design of the AS5047U Sensor suppresses the influence of any homogenous external stray magnetic field. A standard four-wire SPI serial interface with Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) protection allows a host microcontroller to read 14-bit absolute angle position data and program non-volatile settings without a dedicated programmer.
The AS5047U provides incremental movement data as a set of Actinic Blank Inspection (ABI) signals with a maximum resolution of 16,989 steps and 4096 pulses per revolution. The resolution of the ABI output can be programmed to 10- 14 bits. This device also includes a standard UVW commutation interface with programmable pole pairs (1 to 7), ideal for controlling Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. The absolute angle position is also provided as a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) encoded output signal.
The single-die Infineon AS5047U Magnetic Rotary Position Sensor is offered in a 14-pin Thin Shrink Small Outline Package (TSSOP) and is Infineon green and RoHS compliant.

Socket Board
The Infineon AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board allows quick programming of the AS5047D and AS5147 Magnetic Rotary Position Sensors without soldering, thanks to its ZIF Open-Top-Socket for TSSOP packages. The AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board features a 5-pin dual-row connector for
connecting to the USB I&P Box, and a 10-pin dual-row connector for connecting to the SD4Y Production Programmer. An 8-pin header gives access to UVW, ABI, and GND signals. All passive components needed for proper operation are included on the Socket Board. Only a 5V power supply mode is possible.
USB I&P Box
The AS5x47U Adapter Board and AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board can be used with the optional USB I&P (Interface & Programmer) Box, which enables users to read out the sensor data, write a configuration, and permanently program a configuration.
SD4Y Programmer
Infineon SD4Y Programmer is designed for high-speed programming AS5x4x, AS5x3x, and AS514x Magnetic Position sensors. The SD4Y Programmer features a 20-pin connector that connects to the AS5x47U Adapter Board or AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board. A USB cable connects the Programmer to a PC, where a Graphic User Interface (GUI) is used to program the target device.
