Lattice Semiconductor Embedded Vision Development Kit is a modular development platform optimized for mobile-influenced system designs that require flexible, low cost, and low power image processing architectures. By leveraging a mix of Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Application Specific Standard Product (ASSP), and Programmable ASSP (pASSP™) products in a single, modular platform, this unique solution provides the balance of flexibility and energy efficiency required for a variety of embedded vision applications such as robotics, drones, advanced driver assistance, smart surveillance, and augmented reality/virtual reality systems.

By combining the CrossLink™ pASSP Mobile Bridging Device, ECP5™ low power, small form factor FPGA, along with a high-bandwidth, high-resolution HDMI® ASSP, the Embedded Vision Development Kit offers an innovative solution that accelerates the development of intelligent, vision-enabled devices at the edge.

The Lattice Semiconductor CrossLink Input Board includes dual-camera HD image sensors supporting the MIPI® CSI-2 interface, eliminating the need for external video sources. The ECP5 Base Board enables low-power pre/post-processing and supports HD image signal processing (ISP) intellectual property (IP) from Helion Vision. Also included is a NanoVesta connector to support external image sensor video inputs. The HDMI Output Board based on the Sil1136 (non-HDCP) enables connectivity to standard HDMI displays.

Lattice Semiconductor CrossLink Video Interface Platform (VIP) Input Bridge Board supports bridging of Dual MIPI CSI-2 to parallel interfaces. The Crosslink Board‘s key component is the Lattice CrossLink pASSP, which receives input from the dual on-board Sony IMX214 cameras, and bridges CSI-2 to parallel interfaces.

Lattice Semiconductor ECP5 VIP Processor Board supports various onboard interfaces and external interfaces through board-to-board connectors. Based on the Lattice ECP5 FPGA, it is optimized to deliver high performance features like an enhanced DSP architecture, high speed SERDES, and high speed source synchronous interfaces in an economical FPGA fabric.

HDMI VIP Output Bridge Board

Lattice Semiconductor HDMI VIP Output Bridge Board provides the SiI1136 HDMI Deep Color Transmitter. The SiI1136 receives RGB or YCbCr parallel video data and I2S audio from connectors J1 and J2. The SiI1136 converts the incoming data to HDMI or DVI and outputs to the HDMI Type-A connector. The HDMI Type A connector connects the HDMI VIP output board to an HDMI monitor. ESD protection is provided on the TMDS signals.
