NXP Semiconductors FRDM-A-S32K118 Development Board
NXP Semiconductors FRDM-A-S32K118 Development Board is a FRDM Automotive platform for general-purpose industrial and automotive applications. Based on the 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0+ S32K1 MCU, the board provides a practical starting point for evaluating S32K118-based designs with onboard communication, sensing, power, and debug resources.
The NXP FRDM-A-S32K118 combines CAN and LIN communication via the NXP FS23 system-on-chip, robust two-way power delivery through USB Type-C® and DNP Power JACK connectors, a temperature sensor, JTAG, and an onboard debugger utilizing the K20 MCU. The FRDM-A-S32K118 Board also implements a standard form factor compatible with the Arduino® UNO pin layout, enabling developers to use expansion boards for fast prototyping and demonstrations.
The board is ideal for developers building general-purpose automotive and industrial applications that require scalable support from the FRDM Automotive ecosystem. Software resources include S32 Design Studio, S32 Config Tools, Real-Time Drivers, Safety Peripheral Drivers, Model-Based Design Toolbox for MATLAB®, and the Inter-Platform Communication Framework.
