NXP Semiconductors RW61x Wireless Microcontrollers
NXP Semiconductors RW61x Wireless Microcontrollers are highly integrated, low-power wireless MCUs for diverse applications like smart home devices, gaming controllers, industrial automation, and smart accessories. The NXP RW610 combines Wi-Fi® 6 and BLUETOOTH® Low Energy (LE) 5.4 radios, while the RW612 adds 802.15.4 support for tri-radio capabilities. Both MCUs are powered by a 260MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core with Trustzone™-M, 1.2MB of on-chip SRAM, and a Quad SPI interface with an on-the-fly decryption engine for secure external flash access. The Bluetooth LE radio supports a 2 Mbit/s high-speed data rate, long-range, and extended advertising. The on-chip 802.15.4 radio can support the latest Thread mesh networking protocol. In addition, the RW612 can support Matter over Wi-Fi or Matter over Thread, offering a common, interoperable application layer across ecosystems and products.
The integrated EdgeLock® Secure Enclave (Core Profile) offers secure boot, debug, firmware updates, and life cycle management, as well as hardware cryptography and a physically unclonable function (PUF) for secure key management.
The RW612's advanced design delivers tight integration, low power, and highly secure operation in a space- and cost-efficient wireless MCU that requires only a single 3.3 V power supply.
