ROHM Semiconductor Nano Cap BD9xND-C Series LDO Regulators

ROHM Semiconductor Nano Cap BD9xND-C LDO Regulators utilize Nano Cap™ topology, which was developed as low-current-consumption devices for power supplies in various automotive applications that need a direct connection to the battery.

The BD9xxN5-C Regulators supply up to 45V as an absolute maximum voltage and operate up to 500mA for the output current with a low current consumption of 25μA (typ). The devices can regulate the output with a very high accuracy of ±2.0%. The output capacitor 470nF (typ) or more can achieve an excellent transient characteristic even with small capacitance. An external resistive divider implements the output voltage line-up of 3.3V, 5.0V, and an adjustable type. The output voltage can be adjusted between 1.0V and 18V using an external resistive divider connected to the ADJ pin. The output shutdown function is integrated into the regulators. A logical “HIGH” at the EN pin turns on the device, and is controlled to disable by a logical “LOW” input to the EN pin.

The ROHM Nano Cap BD9xND-C LDO Regulators feature integrated overcurrent protection to prevent damage caused by short-circuiting or overload. The devices also incorporate thermal shutdown protection to avoid overheating and an undervoltage lockout to prevent false operation at low input voltage. Additionally, low ESR ceramic capacitors are sufficiently applicable for phase compensation.
