Each KEMET Kit contains a selection of popular values and a KEMET product catalog which contains outlined drawings, dimensions, marking format, recommended mounting pad dimensions, and ordering information.
What's in a KEMET Kit? Each kit contains 10 to 20 capacitor values. For the ceramic kits, there are 20 to 100 pieces of each value. For the tantalum kits, there are 20 pieces of each value. Each part type will be provided either in bulk or by carrier tape and will be clearly labeled with a KEMET ordering code for ease of identification. KEMET Tantalum Kits KEMET Tantalum Chip Engineering Kits are designed to provide active solutions to the passive component requirements characterized in professional OEM engineering design, prototyping, university lab research, and by hobbyist users. These kits contain 10 to 20 pieces of each part number in a strip of carrier tape clearly labeled with KEMET part number, as well as a KEMET catalog which outlines drawings, dimensions, marking format, recommended mounting pad dimensions, and ordering information. The Tantalum Engineering kits contain capacitors that offer many advantages including low ESR, surge current robustness and multiple operating temperature ranges. While many applications use surface mount technology, a complete line of through-hole tantalum capacitors are available for down-hole, military, and other demanding environments. KEMET's traditional MnO2 tantalum capacitors consist of a sintered anode of tantalum metal. This anode is porous thus providing increased surface area. An oxide layer is then formed, and this oxide layer becomes the capacitor dielectric. The oxidized anode is impregnated with manganese dioxide to form the cathode. Tantalum polymer capacitors are a newer variation which replaces the manganese dioxide cathode with a solid conductive polymer cathode. KEMET polymer tantalum capacitors are recommended when very low ESR, increased temperature stability or benign failure mode is critical. |

KEMET Electronics B-20 Series bead cores Kits are designed to provide solutions against noise or electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues in professional OEM engineering design, prototyping, university lab research, and by hobbyist users. These bead cores for use on round cables are available in a variety of sizes. The wide range of Manganese Zinc (MnZn) and Nickel Zinc (NiZn) options allows for targeting of specific frequency ranges. The MnZn core material is typically effective for frequencies in the kHz AM band range, while the NiZn core material is effective for the MHz FM band range. F862 Capacitor Design Kit KEMET Electronics F862 Metallized Polypropylene Film for Harsh Environmental Conditions Kit is designed to provide active solutions to the passive component requirements characterized in professional OEM engineering design, prototyping, university lab research, and by hobbyist users. The F682 series features high capacitance and dissipation factor stability even in severe ambient conditions such as high temperature and relative humidity by utilizing a new sealing epoxy compound, a new polypropylene film variant, and new metallization techniques to greatly improve the life of the capacitor. The metallized film polypropylene dielectric provides excellent self-healing capabilities. This series has a rated voltage of 310VAC/360VDC with an operating temperature of -40ºC to +110ºC. It is an X2 rated capacitor with qualifications based on AEC-Q200 guidelines as well as ENEC, UL, CUL, and CQC approvals. KEMET's F862 Series receives 100% screening factory test at 1,900VDC and can pass the Temperature Humidity Bias (THB) test at 85ºC, 85%RH and 240VAC for 1,000 hours. The series supports applications needing across-the-line filtering and connection in series with the mains. Typical applications include smart meters, capacitive power supplies, and DC applications. The kit contains 10 each of cap values ranging from 1uF to .56uF in a 15mm lead space and cap values ranging from .47uf to 1.2uF in a 22.5mm lead space. Also included in the kit is a bill of materials indicating the part number, quantity, bin location, and description of the capacitor along with an actual bin diagram as well as a product bulletin. |
